# Connect your shop

> Connect a WooCommerce shop so your front desk can answer about your catalogue and stock, and tell customers where their order is — with a read-only key.

If you sell online with WooCommerce, connect your shop and your front desk answers from it directly: what you sell, whether it's in stock, and where a customer's order has got to. Nothing about your shop is copied into Taskezy — it reads the shop live, each time it's asked.

## What you need

* A WooCommerce shop with its **MCP** feature switched on. In WordPress, go to **WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Features** and turn it on.
* Your shop's address, on `https://`.
* A **read-only** API key — see below.

## Create a read-only key

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the REST API settings">
    In WordPress, go to **WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API** and click **Add key**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set it to Read">
    Give it a description such as *Taskezy front desk*, pick a user, and set **Permissions** to **Read**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Copy both halves">
    Click **Generate API key**. Copy the **Consumer key** (`ck_…`) and **Consumer secret** (`cs_…`) — WooCommerce only shows the secret once.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Taskezy only ever reads your shop. Even if a key with more permissions is used by mistake, the front desk has no way to change a product or an order.
</Note>

## Connect it

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Knowledge">
    Go to **Front desk → Knowledge**, and under **Your online shop** click **Connect WooCommerce**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the details">
    * **Store address** — your site followed by `/wp-json/woocommerce/mcp`, for example `https://yourshop.ae/wp-json/woocommerce/mcp`.
    * **Consumer key** and **Consumer secret** — from the step above.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tell it where tracking numbers are (optional)">
    WooCommerce has no "shipped" status, so the front desk says an order is on its way when it finds a tracking number. Under **Where do you keep tracking numbers?**, enter the order fields your shop uses — for example `_tracking_number` and `_carrier`. Without them, it looks for a likely field itself.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect">
    Taskezy checks it can reach your shop before saving. If it can't, it tells you whether the address, the key, or the MCP feature is the problem. Once connected, the card lists what it can read.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What customers can ask

* **Products and stock** — *"Do you have the Aqara hub?"* It answers from your shop's catalogue, only from products you've made visible. Stock comes back as *in stock*, *low* or *out* — never a number.
* **Their orders** — *"Where's my order #1498?"* First the customer proves it's theirs: the order number **plus** the email or phone number the order was placed with. Then they see its stage, what's in it and any tracking number. It **never shows what an order cost**.

If the details don't match, it says it couldn't find the order — without saying which part was wrong. If your shop doesn't answer within a few seconds, it tells the customer it can't check right now, rather than saying the order doesn't exist.

Make sure **Say whether something is in stock** and **Say where an order has got to** are switched on under [Abilities](/front-desk-setup#abilities-what-it-can-do).
