# Operations

> See today's jobs, schedule work onto dates, assign crews and resources, and flag what's blocked — all over WhatsApp.

Operations is where the day gets planned. Tia keeps a simple schedule of jobs against your leads and projects, knows who and what is free, and tells you the moment something is stuck. Ask *"what's on today?"* and you get the day at a glance, without opening a planning tool.

## Today and what's ahead

Start the day by asking Tia what's in front of you.

* **Today's jobs** — *"what's on today?"* lists every job scheduled for today, in your workspace timezone.
* **What's coming up** — *"what's on this week?"* lists upcoming jobs, looking seven days ahead by default.
* **What's stuck** — *"what's blocked right now?"* lists every project with an active blocker, and how many days it's been stuck.

<Note>
  This is the same view that feeds your [morning brief](/personal-assistant#the-morning-brief) at 8am — today's jobs and anything blocked are surfaced before you've asked.
</Note>

## Scheduling work

The core of the seat: put work on a date, and tell Tia who's doing it.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Name the work and the date">
    Tell Tia what to schedule and when — *"schedule the Carpenco install for Thursday"*. The job attaches to a lead or project from your [Sales](/sales) seat, so it carries the customer and the deal with it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a time and a crew (optional)">
    Pin a start time and length, and say who's on it — *"schedule the Carpenco install for Thursday 9am, two hours, send Ravi's crew"*. Tia warns you if the crew or a resource is already booked elsewhere at that time, so you catch a double-booking before it happens.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Adjust as the week moves">
    Plans change. *"unschedule the JBR Villa 4 site visit on Friday"* clears that day. *"add Sami to Thursday's install"* puts another hand on the job without touching the rest of the crew. *"take Ravi off the Carpenco job"* removes him alone.
  </Step>
</Steps>

A few things worth knowing:

* **Jobs hang off a lead or project** — every scheduled job is tied to something in your pipeline, so the schedule and the deal never drift apart.
* **Crew is additive** — assigning extra crew to an existing job leaves everyone already on it in place.
* **Double-bookings are a warning, not a wall** — Tia flags the clash and lets you decide; sometimes you really do want the same crew on back-to-back jobs.

## Crew and resources

A resource is anyone or anything you schedule onto a job — a crew, a field worker, a vehicle, or a bay.

* **See what you've got** — *"who's on the team?"* or *"list our resources"* shows everything schedulable.
* **Check availability** — *"who's free Friday?"* before you commit a crew to new work.
* **Assign in plain language** — *"assign Ravi and the pickup to Thursday's install"*.

<Tip>
  You don't set resources up in advance. The first time you assign a name Tia doesn't recognise — a new field worker, a second van — it's created on the spot and ready to schedule next time.
</Tip>

## Blockers

When a job can't move, flag it so it doesn't quietly slip.

* **Flag a blocker** — *"JBR Villa 4 is blocked — waiting on the marble delivery"* marks the project blocked with your reason.
* **Clear it** — *"JBR Villa 4 is unblocked"* once the marble lands.

Blocked projects don't rely on you remembering them. They surface in the [morning brief](/personal-assistant#the-morning-brief) every day they stay stuck, with the days-since count, so the longer something sits the harder it is to ignore.

## Where this lives in the app

Most scheduling happens in WhatsApp, but the same data is visible in the admin app: the schedule of jobs by date, your list of resources and who's assigned where, and the blocked projects across your pipeline.

## What's next

* [Sales](/sales) — leads and projects are what jobs attach to; start there.
* [Personal assistant](/personal-assistant) — see today's jobs and blockers in the 8am morning brief.
* [How Tia works](/how-tia-works) — the way Tia drafts, confirms, and remembers across seats.
